Scope of this policy
This privacy policy explains how HGT collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information through this employer-facing website, enquiry form, email communication and related employer qualification workflow.
HGT aims to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply and as a matter of good practice.
Information we collect
When an employer submits an enquiry or contacts us, we may collect contact and business information including company name, contact name, email address, location, hiring demand, sponsorship experience, urgency, free-text notes, consent records, source page, referral information, UTM parameters and communication history.
If a candidate discussion progresses, we may also collect limited candidate-related information needed for genuine hiring assessment, role fit, compliance discussions and introductions. This may include trade background, location or relocation preferences, work experience, English level, availability, visa or sponsorship context, licence or skills assessment context and communication history.
We do not ask employers to submit sensitive candidate information unless it is necessary for a genuine hiring or compliance step and can be shared lawfully.
How we collect information
We collect information directly from website forms, email, calls and other business communications. We may also collect technical metadata such as submission time, source page, referrer, IP-related security data and basic website logs.
Where candidate information is involved, it should come from the candidate, from a party authorised by the candidate, from the employer in a genuine recruitment context, or from another lawful source relevant to the process.
Why we use information
- To respond to employer enquiries.
- To understand hiring demand and qualify role requirements.
- To communicate about potential German-trained trades candidates.
- To coordinate introductions, follow-up and related workflow steps where lawful.
- To maintain consent records, source records and business correspondence.
- To operate forms, email, hosting, security, analytics if used, and internal workflow tools.
- To maintain records, security, compliance and service quality.
- To meet legal, regulatory or dispute-management obligations where applicable.
Direct marketing and follow-up
If you submit an enquiry, we may contact you about that enquiry and closely related employer hiring opportunities or updates. We will only send broader marketing communications where permitted by law.
Commercial electronic messages will identify the sender and include a way to unsubscribe or opt out. You can opt out at any time by contacting contact@hiregermantrades.com.au.
Disclosure of information
We may disclose personal information to service providers and professional advisers used to operate the website and related workflow, including cloud hosting providers, Cloudflare services, email providers, Google Workspace or Google Sheets, form and logging infrastructure, contractors, legal advisers, migration professionals, licensing or skills assessment advisers and other workflow tools.
If an employer and candidate process progresses, relevant information may be shared with candidates, employers, recruitment or migration professionals, legal advisers, assessing bodies, licensing bodies or other parties involved in the process, where appropriate and lawful.
Employers who receive candidate information must use it only for genuine hiring assessment, recruitment discussions and related compliance steps.
Overseas disclosure
Information may be processed or stored outside Australia, including through providers with infrastructure, support teams or group companies in the United States, Germany, the European Union or other locations.
Where practical, we use reputable providers and limit information to what is needed for the relevant workflow. Overseas recipients may not always be subject to the Australian Privacy Act or Australian Privacy Principles.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
We retain information for as long as needed for enquiry handling, matching discussions, business records, compliance, dispute management or legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify or restrict it.
Cookies, security tools and analytics
The HGT website uses basic technical services needed to operate and protect the site, including hosting and security infrastructure. Website logs may be processed for security, debugging and operational purposes.
If analytics, advertising pixels, remarketing tools or non-essential cookies are added later, this policy and any required notice or consent process should be updated before those tools are used.
Access, correction and complaints
You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for correction of inaccurate information, or raise a privacy concern.
Contact: contact@hiregermantrades.com.au.
We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days where practicable. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy as the website, systems, services or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page.
